1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information to provide app functionality:

• Account information: email address, user ID, and sign-in method (email, Google, or Apple). If you use Google Sign-In, we may receive your name and profile photo from Google. If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive your name and email address, or a private relay address if you choose to hide your email.
• Profile & health-related preferences: name, age, sex, height, weight, activity level, fitness goal, diet type (vegan/vegetarian), allergies, disliked foods, cuisine preferences, budget, and cooking skill.
• App content you create: meal plans, saved meals, grocery lists, nutrition log entries, and usage data (e.g. number of meal plans or pantry cooks used for free-tier limits).
• Subscription status: whether you have an active Premium subscription (via RevenueCat; we do not receive your payment card details).

We do not knowingly collect payment card numbers or bank details.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To generate personalised meal plans and recipes.
• To track nutrition and display your progress.
• To manage your account, subscription entitlements, and free-tier usage limits.
• To improve reliability and support.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising.

3. AI Processing

Plant Bite uses artificial intelligence to generate meal plans, pantry-cook recipes, and meal edits. When you use these features, relevant information (such as your dietary preferences, allergies, goals, and ingredients you enter) is sent to our AI service provider for processing. This data is used only to provide the requested feature, not for third-party advertising.

We do not send payment information to the AI service.

4. Subscription & Payment Data

• Subscriptions are processed exclusively through Google Play Store (Android) and Apple App Store (iOS).
• We use RevenueCat for subscription management. RevenueCat processes purchase receipts to verify and manage your subscription entitlements. You can review RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.
• We do not store, process, or have access to your payment card details. All payment processing is handled by the respective app store.

5. Third-Party Services

The app uses the following third-party services that may process data in accordance with their own privacy policies:

• Supabase — Authentication and database (privacy policy)
• RevenueCat — Subscription management (privacy policy)
• Google Sign-In — Optional authentication (privacy policy)
• AI service provider — Meal plans, recipes, and edits

6. Data Storage & Security

• User data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud-hosted database with encryption in transit.
• Some data is cached locally on your device (e.g. session, offline sync).
• We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data; no system is 100% secure.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

• We retain your data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service.
• Delete your account in the app: open Profile → Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and permanent — your account, profile, meal plans, saved meals, grocery lists, nutrition log and usage counters are erased and cannot be recovered.
• If you signed in with Apple, deleting your account also revokes Plant Bite's access to your Apple ID.
• Or request deletion from the web: see our account deletion page, or email plantbiteinc@gmail.com from your registered email. We will delete your account and associated personal data within 30 days, except where we must retain data by law.
• Subscriptions: deleting your account does not cancel an active Premium subscription. You must cancel through the App Store or Google Play, otherwise billing continues.
• Reset Profile (in the app) clears your profile preferences and restarts onboarding. It does not delete your account or your other stored data.
• Sign out does not delete your data.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location (including India under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data.
• Object to or restrict processing of your data.

9. Children's Privacy

Plant Bite is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
